  • Naturopathic Doctor visits are not covered under the Ontario Health Insurance Plan (OHIP). However, most extended (private) benefit plans cover services provided by Naturopathic Doctors.

Check with your extended benefit plan to see what your plan specifically covers, as there can be caps on the amount per year, amount per visit, and if the visit is virtual or in person.

  • Yes, we may prescribe hormone therapy when clinically indicated, ensuring you make informed decisions through thorough discussions about the benefits and risks of treatment.

While Naturopathic Doctors in Ontario have specific prescribing rights, our ability to prescribe is limited to certain hormones, forms, and routes of delivery. To provide comprehensive care, we collaborate with a Nurse Practitioner when necessary.

We prioritize a collaborative approach, working with your primary care provider (MD or ND) or specialist (such as a gynecologist) whenever possible to ensure a safe and coordinated plan for your hormone therapy.
